This house was built in the Swiss style in about 1890, restauration work proceeded while we lived there, on a free-time basis over several years.
Some of the proffessional work I have been involved with has been in close co-operation with Høgnes Laft og restaurering, Here is an example of the re-use of a 19th centuary timber house under construction.

Tree tar made from pine roots, this can be used as impregnation. Traditionally on wooden boats and churches.
The charcoal which is left after extracting the tar is used in the forge,
I also hand-make paint for interior as well as exterior restorations
